It appears that our big girl is even bigger than we thought!
At our 4 month check up today Harper was 25 inches long and a whopping 16lbs and 9oz! That is more than double what she weighed when she was born (7lbs 4 oz)! She is in the 80th percentile for height and weight. She definitely doesn't miss a meal, and as you can see, her chunky thighs are starting to show it. We now share the same problem. One day something fits great and the next day it looks as though it is nearly busting at the seams!
She's holding her head up great now and really trying to sit up. She rolls both ways and is reaching and grabbing for everything. The doctor gave us the go-ahead to start cereal whenever we are ready. So to all of the moms out there who have been in this place recently, what was your experience? Did your little one take to solids right away or did it take lots of getting use to? This is silly, but I almost don't want her to start eating from a spoon yet because it's just one more milestone that is coming and going much too quickly!
Harper's place at the table is ready and waiting, but I think I'm going to let her get use to sitting in her chair while we're eating first. Then when she seems comfortable enough I'll introduce the cereal in another week or so. Stay tuned to see how it goes!

Our little "michelin" baby!

Precious Harper! Adelyn didn't care too much for the plain rice cereal or oatmeal, although she would eat it after a few minutes of screaming... We kinda put her on the fast-track to food with flavor, so she only ate the plain rice cereal and oatmeal for a couple of weeks. When we introduced her first real foods (sweet potatoes then squash), she loved eating from a spoon! Every new flavor and texture took some getting used to, but she eventually loved pretty much everything we gave her.
