A lovely weekend....

It was an absolutely gorgeous weekend!

Stephen and his dad went to the SEC Basketball Tournament, so Harper and I decided to go to my mom and dad's house to spend the night Friday night. We had a great time! It was the first night that I've been back to sleep in my old room since I got married. But I don't think we'll be spending the night anywhere again any time soon. Since she hasn't fully settled into a schedule yet, being somewhere else at bedtime really threw her for a loop and she was up most of the night. But she was never fussy, she just couldn't sleep.

On Saturday, Mom, Harper, and myself loaded up and went to the Shops of Grand River in Leeds. It was a great day to be out and about. This was Harper's first real trip out since she's been here. Up until now we've just been rushing her from the vehicle to the indoors and sometimes just letting one of us sit in the car with her while the other runs their errands because the winter weather was so bad. She was in awe of her surroundings! We alternated between strolling her around and just carrying her and she was so content...all day! She loved watching the people, especially other little people, and being outdoors.

Mom and I found the Carter's Outlet Store, and let me tell you, that is a dangerous place to go. It was Baby Clothes Heaven if you are dressing a little girl! I have shown great restraint up to now because I realize that outfits at this age may only get worn once before they are too small, but I almost lost control in that store. But we now have an Easter dress and an adorable bathing suit with a matching hat just to name a couple of items. :) In the Gap Outlet Store we saw a onesie that said "I'd Rather Be Naked" which definitely sums up how Harper feels about clothes these days, but she has lots of cute things to wear so she better start liking them!
On Sunday, Stephen came home from Atlanta early since Alabama's lackluster performance the day before kept them out of the championship game. We went to church, had a good nap, and then went on a nice walk that evening. I love that the time has changed and we have more daylight to do the things we enjoy! I walked a couple of miles by myself and later Stephen and Harper went with me. I'm trying to get back into shape and I've committed myself to run a 5K at the end of April. My goal is to run it without walking, but quite frankly, childbirth has caused lots of jiggling on my lower half that I find very annoying when I run so we'll see how that goes. But I'm very excited and Stephen even said he would run it with me! (Note to Stephen: now that everyone has read this you can't back out.)

Now on to another week; let's hope it's a good one!
