Storms, Harper Pics, Mother's Day, etc...

It has been a crazy busy week! With the storms that came through last week we have been extremely busy at work. It is finally settling down now though. I left work early last Wednesday and finished out the day working from home for fear that I would be caught in the terrible weather when I got off. It was terrifying watching the news as the tornadoes ripped through Cullman, Tuscaloosa, and Birmingham. We couldn't believe what we were seeing! My heart is absolutely broken for the people who have lost everything. Someone on Facebook posted a verse from Isaiah 54:11 last week and it says: Suffering city, you have been beaten by storms. You have not been comforted. I will rebuild you with turquoise stones. I will rebuild your foundations with sapphires. For obvious reasons, Tuscaloosa has a special place in my heart since I lived there for a couple of years and still visit quite often. I have great hopes that even though it may not be the same town that I have known, it will be rebuilt and its' best days are ahead.

On a lighter note, I have uploaded some of the most recent pictures of Harper. Thank goodness Aunt Diane has had her camera handy because I haven't had time to snap any pictures in the last couple of weeks. She is so playful now! Yesterday morning Stephen came into the kitchen to say hello to her and she just kept turning the opposite direction like she was trying to ignore him. It was so funny. She is "talking" all the time now, and she has discovered a new pitch that is so high she can barely reach it. Although she found her feet some time ago, she has recently realized how tasty her toes are. As she gets more personality, it is becoming increasingly difficult to be away from her. I miss her so much during the work day!

I can't wait for the beautiful weekend coming up! I'm also excited about my first Mother's Day. I'm so thankful for Harper and words cannot express how blessed I feel to have been given the opportunity to be a mom. It has truly been the most glorious experience of my entire life (even on the tough days)! I only hope I can be half the mom to Harper that my mom has been to me. She is the best! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms reading this and Happy Friday to everyone!
